Election 41: day 36

May 1, 2011 at 9:34 am (Election 2011, Politics)

Tomorrow is the big day.

I’m pretty sure my prediction from a week ago is completely wrong. The NDP has continued to surge in the polls, eroding support from all of the opposition parties.

I don’t think all of the polling data will translate to voting results, but I am expecting the NDP and Liberals to be far closer than originally anticipated. I still think the Conservatives will end up with a minority, but if the NDP and Liberals together win a majority of seats a “coalition” of some sorts could be our next form of government.

I decided to make some new predictions after the events of last week.

  • Conservatives – 145
  • NDP – 78
  • Liberals – 54
  • Bloc Quebecois – 29
  • Green – 0
  • Independent – 2

For local coverage and results, check Standard-Freeholder throughout the day tomorrow. I’ll be covering Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry’s NDP candidate Mario Leclerc, plus I’ll check in with the folks over in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.

Make sure you get out and vote!
