T-minus four days

April 26, 2011 at 1:24 pm (News)

In four days, the Space Shuttle Endeavour will blast off for the International Space Station. It will be the last flight for the Endeavour, and the second last in the entire shuttle program.

I’ve always been interested in space, stars, NASA, etc. But I’m even more so after connecting with a woman from Cornwall, whose husband is one of the astronauts heading to space on Friday. I’ve interviewed her a couple of times, I chatted with her husband Andrew Feustel, and also sat down in her parents’ living room for an hour last week. This morning I spoke with with another member of the family who is stoked for the launch, sharing her excitement with the school where she works as principal.

It’s such a historical event, and I will definitely be glued to the countdown and blastoff on Friday, thanks to NASA’s live online feed. It’s the next best thing to being sent down to Florida to cover the event, which I pushed for with no success.
