The countdown to Canada

June 19, 2010 at 9:05 am (Random)

I’ve done plenty of countdowns to exciting adventures – like my trip to Peru, skydiving, and others. I think this may be the first time I’ve been seriously counting down the days until I go … home. That’s right, in exactly two weeks from today I will be getting on a plane headed north, with a final destination of Ottawa, Canada.

This has been an incredible year. I have learned so much and been changed in ways I don’t even understand yet. The students and others I have connected with have so enriched my life, and I have no regrets.

That said, I am definitely looking forward to being home again, hence the countdown. Fourteen days until I’m back in my home and native land, 24 days until my entire family is in the same province. I am beyond stoked.

Hey! I was just realising today that I never asked you if you could bring back some Columbian money for my coin collection. I have coins from 56 different countries so far… but none from Columbia. Do you think you could? I’d pay you back – not large bills or coins, but some of the smaller of both? If you would, I’d be rather thrilled. Thanks!

Sure thing, Rach! But only if you learn to spell ColOmbia properly … haha. :)

Oh no! I must have been thinking of BC. And here I was just getting annoyed with the BBC for spelling “Ottawa” “OttOwa” in a report! Humility, I guess. :)
